HC backs PMC move against hawkers
In a significant decision, the Bombay High Court has dismissed a writ petition, filed by Janeev Sanghatana, representing hawkers, hand-cart pullers and vendors in the city, challenging Pune Municipal Corporation's decision to cancel their licenses to ensure safe and smooth traffic on city roads.



SC notice to Railway Ministry on accidents
Supreme Court on Thursday issued notices to the Union Government and the Railway Ministry on a Public Interest Litigation drawing court's attention to the increasing number of fatal accidents on tracks due to lack of modernisation of the rail system.
