Restaurant employee shot at
An employee of Super Star restaurant in Zaffrabad was shot at by two unidentified youths in the Seelampur police station area last night. Zainuddin (40) was working when the assailants apparently parked their scooter on the roadside and walked into the restaurant.

They opened fire at Zainuddin, hitting him in the shoulder, and then fled the spot. Zainuddin was rushed to the GTB Hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

In another case, four persons entered a Shakkarpur house and attacked the owner with a sharp-edged weapon last night. Three of the assailants caught hold of Aneesh Ahmed (30) while the fourth one stabbed him. When his wife Hadisa raised an alarm, the assailants fled the spot. Ahmed has been admitted to the JPN Hospital where his condition is reportedly serious.

Man arrested for raping daughter
The Ghaziabad police today arrested a 35-year-old man for having allegedly raped his 16-year-old daughter over a period of more than a year. It was the alleged rapist's younger brother who somehow came to know about the matter, on whose tip off the Loni police arrested Jaibhagwan, a barber by profession, from his house. On interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the crime. A widower, Jaibhagwan has five children, of whom the the eldest -- a daughter -- is married.

Robbers arrested, case solved
The East district police claim to have worked out a case of robbery with the arrest of a 26-year-old man, Shammi Kapoor, from the Geeta Colony area. He had allegedly robbed Yogesh Gaba of cash amounting to Rs 10,000, a gold chain and a wrist watch in July.

A police team reportedly spotted the accused and a Sanjay Kumar alias Lali, moving under suspicious circumstances in the Gandhi Nagar area. On interrogation, the duo confessed that they were planning a robbery.

Shammi Kapoor reportedly also confessed to having committed a Sunder Park robbery along with his associates Imran and Phulva who are absconding. He said that the booty was still with the other two. Furthur investigations are on to arrest the other accused.

Certificate, marksheet racket busted
The Ghaziabad police have arrested a person for preparing and selling fake certificates and marksheets. 42-year-old Abdullah allegedly used to prepare fake marksheets and certificates at Pratap Vihar under the Vijay Nagar police stationa area of the district. The police arrsted him at the Pratap Vihar bus stop.
