FATEHGARH SAHIB, July 10: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will visit Mandi Gobindgarh on Sunday where he would inaugurate the 11th bienniel conference of the National Union of Journalists (India).According to Ashok Singhi, president of the Punjab Union of Journalists, the host organisation, about 700 media persons from all over the country would participate in the conference.
CM Parkash Singh Badal, Sahib Singh Verma, Chief Minister Delhi along with some senior Union ministers are participating in the inaugural function.
The PM will address the conference in the outdoor stadium. Before this he will meet the members of the National Executive of the union over tea, Singhi said.
T.R. Sarangal, Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib said all arrangements for the PM's visit were complete.
Meanwhile, Rajinder Singh, DIG, Patiala Range, while talking to ENS said tight security arrangements had been made.According to sources, the municipal committee is presenting a purse of Rs 11 lakh to the Prime Minister.
