CHANDIGARH, July 10: After seven days in police custody, Harvinder Singh, accused of killing an S.A.S. Nagar youth in the Sector 10 market, was today remanded to judicial custody till July 23 by UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) Tejwinder Singh.He, along with one Manoj Pal, were earlier booked under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code after Manjit Singh of S.A.S. Nagar died in the crossfire outside Hotel Mountview.
While Manoj Pal was arrested by the Chandigarh Police on June 8, Harvinder Singh surrendered before the court on June 27.
According to the prosecution, an altercation between the two groups at a club a few months ago had resulted in the firing. The victim was in a Maruti car, while the "assailants" were driving a Zen.
