CHANDIGARH, July 10: A 17-year-old girl, on her way to her tuition classes, was reportedly kidnapped and later resued, in the city, yesterday.Police sources said that the girl, a resident of Daruah village, was going to her tuition classes (X+1) in Sector 46 and stopped on her way at her friend's residence in Sector 32, at around 8 am or so on Thursday.
It was alleged that she was kidnapped by Hari Singh, a resident of the same village, who took her away in his car CH01R 4218. The girl's friend reportedly informed the girl's father over the phone and the police were informed.
Police sources added that the car was intercepted at the SAS Nagar barrier and the alleged kidnapper arrested. The girl alleged that the accused forcibly pushed her into the car, threatening to kill her if she shouted for help, police sources added.
The police have booked Hari Singh for kidnapping and criminal intimidation, it was added.
