Jiang Zemin blames India for nuclear imbroglio
On the eve of a crucial meeting of the foreign ministers of the five Security Council permanent members in Geneva, China sought to turn up the heat against India, saying it was the ``target'' of New Delhi's nuclear tests. But in the Capital, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee led the exercise in calming passions worldwide, pointing out to China that it only wanted a ``mutually responsive'' relationship.

First Thailand-made satellite set for launch
The first Thai-built satellite has been completed and is scheduled to be launched this month by a Russian rocket. The satellite will be able to serve the purposes of studying telecommunications, remote sensing and shortwave radio.

Benazir ready for trial in graft cases
Former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto said on Wednesday that she was ready to face trial in Switzerland, Pakistan or anywhere else to clear her family's name of corruption charges. She also denied her family had pocketed any kickbacks or government funds during her tenure as prime minister, and accused Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's government of harassment.
