NEW DELHI, June 3: The hike in the rate of the competition post card from Rs 2 to Rs 3 wouldn't deter those who flood the mail boxes of TV channels and newspapers. With the price of competition post cards going up to rupees three which is higher than the price of a stamped envelope, many enterprising entrants were sending in multiple entries in a single envelope. ``We have got some entries like that, but then we don't accept them and insist on competition post cards,'' said a DD official.
Most channels deny that this trick adopted by some participants will work. ``The logic of giving TVC at the end of the address emanates from the fact that the government wanted to ensure that ordinary postcards are not misused and had introduced competition post cards,'' says P.C. Lahiri, Vice President, Zee TV.
``There is no question of accepting ordinary post cards, we have to accept the competition postcards even if they are priced at Rs 100,'' he added. ``They have increased the price, but still if you have Rs 10,000 rupees, you don't mind spending Rs 30 on competition post cards,'' said Maneesh Kumar, a Delhi University student.
However, some like Snehlata Joshi, a housewife disagree: ``There will be some affect surely as many would send less number of postcards now, after the hike.''
